Adding Death of Otto Zehm
[edit]The Death of Otto Zehm is covered extensively in reliable sources about the SPD but is mentioned nowhere in the current article. I added the following:
- On March 20, 2006, officer Karl F. Thompson Jr attacked and killed Otto Zehm, an unarmed man with developmental disability who was shopping at a convenience store.[1] The death was ruled a homicide by county coroner and Thompson was sentenced to 51 months imprsonment.[2][3]

The original creator of the creator removed the paragraph in it's entirety with the following edit summary: "WP:NPOV and WP:WEIGHT While among the most famous incidents with SPD, it would maybe warrant casual mention in a large article but hardly should be 1/2 the article". I added a comment here on their talk page similar to this post.
Since the current article is so short, it seems like any new topics like (e.g. type of police vehicles are used, or the K9 Unit, or the architecture of the the police headquarters) would be half the article. And, frankly, I'm concerned that omitting all references to a police brutality incident from the article approaches WP:CENSOR.
Can other editors help identify ways to incorporate the Death of Otto Zehm into this article in a way that preserves balance? - RevelationDirect (talk) 11:05, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- Note Tagged the WikiProjects associated with both articles in order to bring in more viewpoints to make the article better. RevelationDirect (talk) 11:28, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
That DEFINITELY seems like WP:CENSOR. The paragraph does not present the facts in a biased way, it just presents it directly, without any real point of view, so WP:NPOV should not be an argument. The half the article argument itself has no weight, as any contribution would likely be more than half, and that argument therefore only works on larger pages.
