There are 3 species of Sphaerotholus goodwini, S. edmontonensis (incl. S. bucholtzae), and S. brevis. The synonymy of bucholtzae with edmontonensis is based on Robert Sullivan's conclusion that the holotype of S. bucholtzae is identical to that of S. edmontonensis.
Then we have to establish who first published the combinatio novaSphaerotholus edmontonensis and we need a reliable source explicitly stating that this is the name of a valid species.--MWAK (talk) 08:50, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
