Snap Music
[edit]Articles like this are the reason people sneer at wikipedia. Delete this shit.
laffy taffy
[edit]i fixed the link to laffy taffy because it linked to the actual candy
This is not a genre
[edit]This is all wrong. Everyone knows Roland Thick invented snap music. The other rappers destroyed it by childish lyrics and weak interpretation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.93.218.253 (talk) 17:00, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
These are songs that feature snapping. What the hell. I bet you a million dollars we'll see "clap rap" real soon. --Macarion 01:15, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- The question is will we ever notice it? most sourthern rap sounds the same, tired ass rhymes and uber repetive beats. I think the ying yang twins started Whisper rap, and them franchise boys started the repeat myself in a chorus over and over rap —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.15.234.32 (talk) 03:55, 3 January 2007 (UTC).
- "Clap rap"... Is Hand Clap close enough? -Mysekurity 06:03, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
12 bar blues?
[edit]besides from being "simple", what is the relation between 12 bar blues and snap? also, how are snap and reggaeton beats "versatile"? this all strikes me as POV and original research.
i flooded the thing with citation needed, i dont know if thats the best course of action. i didnt want to just delete the thing outright, because if it can be clarified and sourced, it is an interesting point to make. still, for the time being it strikes me as sort of random and one person's opinion.
General article quality
[edit]Aside from blatant original research, there is a great deal of unsourced content, and alot of informal and noticeably unencyclopedic terminology. While a valid concept for an article, it definitely could use some serious cleaning up. 1337wesm 01:28, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- You may have caught it in the middle of some vandalism. The article is typically hideous, but during this period it was unbearable. Eli lilly 01:44, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Web sites
[edit]Are there any websites that focus only on this genre? Peecee1978 (talk) 05:30, 1 January 2008 (UTC) The only information on this page that is correct is the fact that Roland Thick created the music. It was actually invented as a form of gangster music. When it was imitated it became watered down. The original "snap" songs were played in a club called Pool Palace in Atlanta Georgia. The album was Raw Radio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.76.224.3 (talk) 21:11, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
nomination for deletion
[edit]the only source this article has is an mtv article saying "we're making music now that uses finger snapping." i don't believe warrants any specific notability, much as there is no article for "clap music." someone want to nominate this for deletion, and integrate what little content there is into the individually mentioned songs' articles? hell, the "snap & b" section mentions the-dream, but his entire article doesn't mention anything about snapping. what is this? 21:37, 22 June 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Impasse (talk • contribs)
It's a real genre, but a terrible, terrible article. I mean, wow. Wouldn't even know where to begin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.112.254.0 (talk) 01:22, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
