-Why was this in WikiProject Germany? This band's British!
Untitled
[edit]some mistakes:
- It's not true as well that they weren't able to tour around 1995 - that was the yea I first saw them, and they toured a lot between 1995 and 1998.
- dave pugh joined the band after the recording of wayward sons
- the swords-single was the first WITHOUT martin on vocals, not the last one with him.
- drummer jay stayed in the band longer than walkyier, he played the first gigs with kevin on vocals
- martin gave several reasons for leaving skyclad (most often citing financial difficulties), but the band not willing to tour south america was not among them afair.
- promotion for "a semblance" as absolute zero, there was no support from dreamcatcher (the label) at all. some fans helped to spread the word though.
- Change them to what you think though. I'm doing this all by info I can find on websites and interviews. I wasn't into them when any of this happened, being somewhat of a Johnny-come-lately. For point four, That's the reason Martin gave as the 'final straw' in an interview with a South American zine. I've never been able to track down 'Swords' so I presumed they used the bonus-track version of the single which had Martin on vocals. if it was a re-recording then I apologise.
Please, add this stuff. It's so hard to find detailed info about this band. --KharBevNor 29 June 2005 13:41 (UTC)

I've just added the Infobox, but i cant seem to get rid of the 200 above the "folkenon" band pic. Also it may be good if anyone could add the band logo into the area above the band pic. I would but i dont know how. cheers. Dave.T 18:08, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Men of Straw
[edit]I could be wrong but citing the song Men of Straw as evidence of an anti-liberal attitude seems strange...a straw man argument means to deliberately overstate someone's argument... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.197.53.101 (talk) 22:02, 13 October 2007 (UTC) ...just a thought, of course it could also mean they are ready for burning... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.197.53.101 (talk) 22:31, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
2 bands by this name?
[edit]Emusic has a page for albums by a band "skyclad" - http://www.emusic.com/artist/Skyclad-MP3-Download/11701271.html - none of which are listed here. Are they one and the same, or just two similar bands with a similar name?

Medieval Metal?
[edit]Is the "Medieval Metal" tag really necessary? If nothing else, it's not a genre I've ever heard used seriously anywhere else, and while the whole "medieval rock" thing might be justified, I don't really see the need or ability to draw the distinction between folk metal and medieval metal. Certainly not here anyway, Skyclad have plenty of folk, but I don't know of much outright "medieval" influence (even if such a distinction can be drawn). And rockdetector isn't, as far as I know, a genuinely reliable source. So if no one can come up with a convincing argument, I'll go ahead and remove it. Prophaniti (talk) 20:51, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
