References
[edit]The reference coding on the page needs to be fixed, I think the problem may be with the cites. And there appear to be a few bad links withing the refs. --192.154.91.225 (talk) 21:08, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I fixed the references. This appears to have been the problem edit. [1] However, the editor made a lot of legitimate fixes, so I don't think this was an act of vandalism. I haven't checked the links within the refs. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 22:20, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I checked all the external links within the references. Although I haven't verified that they all support the statements to which they are attached, the links are all live and connected to the proper article. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 23:08, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
plot
[edit]how come the entire same exact plot of this article is also written at Sinestro Corps article. Gman124 (talk) 16:24, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- It's too long, also. Needs condensing drastically. I also find it curious that the crossover is said to be twice as long as World War Hulk; SCW is 11 backbone issues while WWH has only 5, true, but if we count tie-ins we find ourselves looking at 17 and *40* respectively. One could just as easily call WWH twice as large the crossover. SamSim (talk) 13:07, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- The plot at Sinestro Corps article should be shortened because it's already here on this page. Gman124 (talk) 14:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
To Do
[edit]- I'd like to see the plot section shortened, it makes up half of the article and now that the event is over we're more easily able to see "the big picture" to summarize it better.
- More images would be nice. If someone has a picture of Johns and van Sciver at a convention or something that'd be fantastic for the Origins section. Maybe two more comic book scans to illustrate the different corps and perhaps the Black Lantern thing would be useful, but I'd prefer to keep our fair-use images to a minimum.
- Anything else that we should cover, explain in greater detail or remove altogether?
I'd love to get this to GA status if possible, and maybe FA someday, but we should resolve the issues above and do a peer review first. --Hemlock Martinis (talk) 22:09, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
GA pass
[edit]This article passes easily. I did notice a few minor grammar errors that need to be fixed, but not many. I also felt that the plot section might be a bit long, but it was well-written enough that I'll leave that up to you editors to decide. Wrad (talk) 23:36, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Event
[edit]Hi, thanks for being patient with me. The word "event" is so vague, (or am I being too English), do you need to use it? Graham. GrahamColmTalk 00:56, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- It could be, but I'm still erring on the side of acceptable with it. What do you propose as an alternative? --Hemlock Martinis (talk) 07:25, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- This came up in passing and in general here. It looks like a more generally acceptable term would be storyline. So this would be a "major crossover storyline" - which fits with the wording of the categories. (Emperor (talk) 04:18, 7 May 2008 (UTC))
- Sounds good to me. I've made the necessary changes, aside from a few instances where "crossover" is more appropriate in context. --Hemlock Martinis (talk) 19:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Merger proposal
[edit]The plot summary from Sinestro Corps#The Sinestro Corps War should be merged into this article because both pages have same plot and it's redundant. Gman124 talk 04:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I don't think it really even needs a merge proposal. That section should be trimmed down to an overview paragraph and if there is anything worth keeping then you can slot it in here. That seems fairly common sense to me and in line with best practice in such cases. Wait and see if there are any objections but I think you'd be well within your rights to just take the pruning shears to it. (Emperor (talk) 04:15, 7 May 2008 (UTC))
- I had shortened the plot at the Sinestro Corps artcles before (see here), but someone copied the plot from this page and put it there again (see here) so now I decided to add a merge tag. Gman124 talk 05:01, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- The plots were originally the same on both articles. During the course of this article's FAC I've significantly trimmed this article's plot section. If someone wants to copy/paste the trimmed version over to Sinestro Corps please do so, but a merger with this article is unnecessary and overly bureaucratic. --Hemlock Martinis (talk) 07:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see the need for copy and pasting anything from here. That section should have a paragraph or two specifically written for it, giving a simple overview of the article here. We don't need large blocks of plot being moved around. (Emperor (talk) 15:17, 7 May 2008 (UTC))
Lead
[edit]Let's avoid an edit war here. I made two primary changes to the intro. The first one was removing the issue numbers and shifting around the sentence structure. I did this for two reasons: 1) the issue numbers are already in the infobox and thus their inclusion two inches away in the lead is repetitive and 2) The second sentence, as it stands, awkwardly conveys three ideas and thus is too cluttered. My second change was restoring my "...former Green Lantern Sinestro's eponymous corps" line. I felt this was the best way to succinctly summarize the situation over the clunky "...Sinestro Corps, who are armed with yellow power rings and seek a universe ruled through fear". Overall, these two edits make the lead more smooth and flowing as opposed to the rocky and awkward reading it has now. --Hemlock Martinis (talk) 18:39, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
