Is there a difference between the two Talageri titles "Aryan Invasion Theory and Indian Nationalism" and "Aryan Invasion Theory: A Reappraisal", or are they the same book? (I've seen both advertised on the internet, with 1993 as date of publication. 129.22.46.197 Jan 18 2005

Talageri claiming Witzel hasn't read his book is childish; how (and why) would he have criticized it if he hadn't seen it? Witzel points out glaring weaknesses, and Talageri retorts by saying this instead of addressing the criticism? Ouch, that must have taught Witzel. I suppose this was just a retort to Witzel's suspicion that Talageri never read Oldenberg. And if Talageri ever did read Oldenberg, he must have forgotten anything he learned there since. Either way, this is a semi-academic flamewar of limited notability, and if the Hindutva crowd didn't enjoy dragging this out (in spite of the whole thing reflecting rather poorly on their own side of the argument), there would be no need to lose as much as a sentence on it on Wikipedia. dab () 00:49, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the 9th chapter of Talageris Rigveda book. The criticism is about Talgeris first book:
The Aryan Invasion Theory: A Reappraisal, 1993
It has nothing to do with Talageris book on the Rigveda. --Rayfield 08:35, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recreated

[edit]

I see back in 2007 this article was merged with the article about his book, which has since been merged into Indigenous Aryanism, which seems to be the theory promoted in his book. It seems like this guy is a prominent voice for that theory, and maybe an article could be written about him, but this resurrected article is not it. As it stands, this article cites no sources about Talageri. Most of the footnotes point to citations from his own books. If this was a new article, rather than one where someone reverted from a redirect to an old version of the article, I would draftify this. As it is, I would not blame anyone for reverting back to a redirect. I would encourage PradeepBihar92 to start from scratch writing an article about Talageri based on sources that talk about him. Otherwise the proper course is to restore the redirect. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:15, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
