- I'll move the tagged paragraphs to this page if sources cannot be found in the next week. Replying to DGG, if the only content that can be sourced is the opening sentence, then I would suggest redirecting this article to 221B Baker Street. Addhoc 17:49, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Blue Plaque
I've changed the wording of the blue plaque section which previously said that the English Heritage scheme only acknowledges people who "legitimately existed". English Heritage only operate the scheme within London and offer advice to other scheme runners (some of whose plaques may be blue, or otherwise). Some of these schemes do allow fictional characters as a part of their official region's scheme (for example Lara Croft has a plaque in Derby). The London scheme allows a number of kinds of entity to be commemorated including notable historical individuals (but not exclusively so, for example including events and sites) but not fictional characters. This is documented in "Celebrating People and Place, Guidance on Commemorative Plaques & Plaque Schemes" by English Heritage, which is available online. I've tried to make this clearer and remove sources of confusion. I encourage you to read the guidance if you are interested (I have added a link). I know it's a minor thing, but I know that wikipedia editors can be arsey with anonymous contributors, so thought I needed to explain. 88.145.9.205 (talk) 19:47, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
What room is it?
The same room is identified variously as the "Sitting Room", "Sherlock Holmes's Room", "The Study" and "Sherlock's laboratory" (or rather, the laboratory is in one corner of whatever room it is, but that's not immediately clear from the caption). Minor detail, perhaps, but what does the Museum actually call it?
By the way, this room appears as the backdrop for an illustration in Trinity Seven volume 7. (It has nothing to do with the story, though.) I came here hoping to verify that, successfully as it turns out. I doubt this fact is suitable for inclusion in the article itself, but I wanted to share it... 2.99.203.122 (talk) 23:49, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
