I'm surprised that there is no discussion either on the main page of this entry or on this talk page about the accusation that "Say So" copies Skylar Spence's "Fiona Coyne." See here. I'm not going to immediately add it to the front page since I wanted to see if there has been some discussion that I missed. Bc.rox.all (talk) 23:11, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Bc.rox.all: one question editors ask themselves to determine whether a detail like this can be included in the article is if it constitutes due weight. Does a significant amount of reliable sources about the topic talk about the backlash you describe? For example, the Dr. Luke controversy in this very Say So article has its own subsection because so many music critics talked about his involvement. In this case, the only sources I could find that make this comparison are the Popbuzz article you linked as well as two Stereogum articles (1) (2).
The thing is, Popbuzz's reliability is dubious, so I doubt that the detail will remain in the article if you use that as your sole source. Another thing - while I would say the Stereogum articles are marginally more reliable, you have only one source that backs up that claim of " it was accused of copying the melody of the song". You can put that information in the "Critical reception" section, but make sure to attribute the writer who made the claim to keep a neutral point of view, and make sure to get across that only that writer shares the opinion.
