Population numbers
[edit]An IP added numbers to every country listed. I have a source that claims only about 300,000 live in Japan and another source that claims another 300,000 live in other countries. The current population numbers amount to almost 1,000,000. Most countries don't differentiate between Ryukyuans and Japanese in census records, so where did these numbers come from? ミーラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 08:25, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
- I reverted these edits because are not substantiated. I do not know because I am not informed about the topic. What are the exact numbers for the 2002, and especially 2012 source? This information is notable to be mentioned on the talk page as a reference point. I think that if there's lack of information for specific countries then the infobox should be short and not list any other country, while the article should be in prose (focused on their history and so on) like Japanese diaspora, otherwise the focus of the article is the infobox or numbers.--Miki Filigranski (talk) 23:21, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Miki Filigranski: The source on worldwide diaspora only gives "more than 300,000" while the source on diaspora in Japan gives "survey conducted in 2000 estimated that 70,000... resided in Osaka Prefecture... 12,000 in Hyogo Prefecture... and 45,000 in Kanagawa Prefecture... 127,000 in those three prefectures... total number... on the mainland has been estimated at 300,000". There is probably a source floating around somewhere that deals with the global population. ミーラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 02:07, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

- Made up abbreviation and made up numbers from a blocked IP. I'm glad I noticed, but two articles displaying hoax numbers for over a year was quite unfortunate. Yue🌙 04:07, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
