[edit]Yes, that's his real name.
Actually it is not . His birth name is Russel —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.198.56.149 (talk) 19:53, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
does anyone know if Rusty is his birth name? if not, what is his original name? R a k h t æ l 00:37, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Re-link ALS link
[edit]I re-did the ALS link so it no longer links to the ALS Disambiguation page. It now links directly to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis page. Crashedata (talk) 21:06, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Protone Pedals section
[edit]Is it just me or does the Protone Pedals section appear to be a blatant advertisement for his signature pedal? 136.142.110.17 (talk) 21:20, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Got a problem buddy? Huh? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.7.202.177 (talk) 05:48, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
It's sort of a grey area, imo. "Protone" is mentionned several times, but it is always in conjunction with Jason Becker,or Cooley himself. I dont really see that part as all that necessary or pivotal to his life and career, but well,i guess it is information. But i dont think its bad enough to remove it,as far as your advert point goes. But you wrote that 2 years ago, maybe its been toned down a bit since. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.122.168.200 (talk) 10:34, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it does credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. — 99.57.11.0 (talk) 10:22, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Multiple Issues
[edit]I've just added two new issue tags because this article reads like a resume and makes several statements about the person without actually imparting information. There are also some claims made about album credits that I've been unable to verify.
This article has previously been considered for deletion due to a lack of subject notability. The decision was to keep it, but I suspect that if this was re-written to be truly neutral there wouldn't be enough material left to constitute a full article. Cloventt (talk) 04:36, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
