Returned reference to Chatten's citing influence of "Land Sickness"

[edit]

On more than one occasion, Fontaines' singer and primary lyricist Grian Chatten has cited the book 'Land Sickness' as informing his writing on 'Romance.' (He also calls the book's author, Nikolaj Schultz, a friend.) One occassion seems to be a press interview he gave connected to the band's appearance at the Glastonbury festival this past summer. Chatten's interview and crediting of 'Land Sickness' as an influence received wide coverage including by, among others, the Times (UK), the Irish Times, and Rolling Stone, this last being cited in this wiki article as the source supporting the book's inclusion here. That support remains solid.

The information itself is eminently noteworthy as such things go. This article was diminished to some meaningful degree by the removal of the "Land Sickness" reference. I have restored it. If any other editor disagrees and wishes instead to take the reference out again, please provide support for that decision here. Frankly, I can't imagine a good reason for going back.

The mention seems uncontroversial. I have added an archive of the cited website because it had been removed. Perhaps that is why the editor removed it from the article. Οἶδα (talk) 08:37, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Will within a day will add additional, functioning cite for 'Land Sickness' as influence. As I wrote, plenty of reliable outlets reported it. Hope editor who's action I reverted checks in at talk. First time I've used that function and was surprised when I wasn't given the opportunity to attach some explanation for my choice, seems like I courtesy I owe to the previous editor. Maybe they're reading now. Iandiareii (talk) 20:40, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I have removed the first reference because it was just a press release repeated on a concert hall's website. I added another reference from an interview with DIY Mag where Grian more pointedly describes how the book influenced the record. Οἶδα (talk) 23:24, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
