The article states: "Always seeking attention he would be diagnosed ADD in modern terminology" (no source).

1. ADD is an out-dated term. "ADHD, inattentive type" would be more congruent with modern terminology.

2. Seeking attention is not a diagnostic criterium for (any subtype of) ADHD in the DSM-5[1].

father?

[edit]

"His father was a steward on a transatlantic steamer "France" and was often away from home for prolonged periods. Robert was a forceps birth and had visible marks on each temple. He was baptised in April 1882, but the parents' surname was recorded as Allen instead of Coombes, which was the maiden name of his mother. His father was a butcher."

Could someone clarify or explain this passage, especially in regards to the father's identity and occupation? Right now, it's unclear if it's even the same person (a steward or a butcher?). 176.235.83.208 (talk) 15:14, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
