Although admirably neutral and adequately referenced, this article needs better organization. I suggest opening it with an introduction and dividing the subject into sections. One curious fact emerges at the close: that although this is considered the author's masterpiece and sold well upon publication, this travel memoir was published over 70 years after the journey took place. Why was it delayed so long and what accounts for this unusual success? Also, specifically what parts of Scotland did the tour encompass and what elements of the author's style set this apart from other more forgettable travelogues? To the editor or editors who brought the article this far: please take these comments in an encouraging light: I think this could become a GA with a bit more work.
