Two sections are OR and should be deleted

[edit]

I've never heard of cognitive systems or procedural systems as common names used to refer to reasoning systems. The descriptions are so vague that they could apply to all sorts of everyday procedural programs. Unless someone has a reference I plan to delete these sections. I've since noticed there is an article on procedural reasoning systems. It's not at all a common term but as long as an article exists I'll keep that section. I still plan to delete the cognitive section unless I can find a reference. RedDog (talk) 01:37, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to delete the section on Expert Systems. This article is supposed to be about the underlying engines that can drive any intelligent system. An expert system is a kind of application, not a kind of reasoning engine. An expert system will have an inference engine (usually a rule-based system but can also be case-based or other technologies listed here). I actually think listing all these kinds of general inferencing and constraint propagation engines is questionable and is close to OR anyway but the expert systems section is clearly an outlier with the rest so I'm going to delete it. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 14:42, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
