Improvements that should be made
[edit]- The article ought to mention when the breed was developed. At present, it says where and by whom, but not when. Also, the article seems to imply that the breed has only existed since the nineteenth century, but another source1 indicates that its been around for hundreds of years, and that it was not developed by the Randall family as the article currently claims.
- I first heard of this breed watching a show called Burgers in Washington2. In the episode, it says that Eamonn’s A Dublin Chipper3 serves burgers made from Randall lineback cattle. The chef explains that, in serving Randall meat, he aims to promote their cultivation in order to help sustain the breed and prevent it from going extinct. A discussion of the popularity (whether growing, shinking, whatever) of eating Randall meat may be warranted.
- Here is an article from CNN about preserving the Randall breed through consumption. The article credits Joe Henderson has the primary agent responsible for the breed’s resurgence. I definitely think this CNN article should be heavily cited in this Wikipedia article, as its story is rather compelling and informative.
