Sources says Malam was was born c. 1700. The ship wrecked in 1732-33. Lived 18 years in Holland. Returned in his 30s (?). Went to Europe again in 1750s. Built Aina Mahal in 1761. Died in 1773. The dates are dubious because they are not clearly stated in all sources and varies. The chronology of his life can not be established with dates.
