I tried to insert a paragraph about a controversy RC was involved in and it was removed. I disagree with that removal, and further, the removal of content like this only leaves the page reading more like a brief author biog of the type produced by agents and publishers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritenhouse (talk • contribs) 12:05, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think User:Ritenhouse is referring to this edit. Cooke's "something really unpleasant" (concerning Rod Liddle) was only picked up elsewhere in one response. This is an October 2009 interview of Liddle by Viv Groskop for the Evening Standard: "Sitting outside a Lebanese restaurant on Westbourne Grove, Liddle is all scratchy head and face of contrition. After reading Cooke's piece he did not sleep a wink, he says." Cooke's comment, unsurprisingly, does not appear to have received any attention from the police for supposed threatening behaviour. In total, a somewhat insubstantial potential addition. Philip Cross (talk) 13:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I get that User:Philip Cross - it can be argued that it is insubstantial, although it was picked up by a major news source, involves a high profile controversial person and does offer insight into aspects of RC's life and attitudes. I offered it largely as an attempt to move the page away from RC publisher biog. To me this 'incident' is interesting and does add to the picture we have of RC. But happy to leave it out nevertheless unless others agree with me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritenhouse (talk • contribs) 14:19, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
