Pi de les Tres Branques received a peer review by Wikipedia editors, which is now archived. It may contain ideas you can use to improve this article.
A fact from Pi de les Tres Branques appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 11 August 2012 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
User:Mountolive has been changing the term "tree" in the article to "snag". Now, "snag" is apparently an obscure American term for a dead tree. It does not appear (in that sense) in dictionary.com. It appears in Oxford as an American term. It does appear in (the American) Merriam-Webster. The article was written by me in Hiberno-English, and "tree" is common to all varieties of English, therefore according to WP:COMMONALITY that term should be used. I therefore propose to revert the change again. — Rwxrwxrwx (talk) 20:58, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please remember that the term in question has its own wikipedia article (see snag (ecology). I guess that the reason for this term to be "obscure" is because it is science (ecology) related. This is not Simple English wikipedia, but an online encyclopedia where users should expect to be challenged by finding otherwise "obscure" terms.
Moreover, the term is necessary so as to make clear that the tree is actually dead (has been for about one century). By using 'the snag word' it immediately becomes self-evident.
Last but not least, please consider the fact that I initially placed 'the snag word' in three different places throughout the article. After noticing your concern, I have used it just once. MOUNTOLIVEfedeli alla linea10:20, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The tree is a Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), 25 metres (82 ft) tall, and as its name suggests, consists of three main branches or trunks rising from a common base.[1] It is located in the centre of the Campllong plain, which measures about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) by 500 metres (1,600 ft) and occupies the flat floor of a valley, surrounded by forested mountains of the Pre-Pyrenees, at an altitude of 1,294 metres (4,245 ft).[1] To the south, separating the valley from Berga town, is the Serra de Queralt (ca) ridge, home to the Queralt Sanctuary (ca) religious complex, and to the north are the Rasos de Peguera mountains and ski resort. Berga is 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) away by road.[2]
"The tree previously dominated the valley's farmed and grazed land, due to its height and full foliage, and was visible from a long distance, as is shown in old photographs." --> No source
Comment. There are many old photos in the Commons category showing that, though I don't know if Commons can be used a source.
"However, much of the surrounding land has now been taken over by forest, and Pi de les Tres Branques now has many other trees in its vicinity, which, together with its current skeletal form, make it much less visible than before." --> No source
Comment. As above, there are many photos in the Commons category showing that, though I don't know if Commons can be used a source.
"The valley is traversed by a minor road..." What is the name of said road? It could definitely be added here for sake of mentioning
Comment. It does not seem to have a name (I would be surprised if it did), nor even a number. It was a dirt track until quite recently, though I don't have a source for that.
"The valley is traversed by a minor road which terminates at the small settlement of Castellar del Riu at its western end." --> No source
Done.
"The road passes close by Pi de les Tres Branques, which is indicated by a signpost." --> No source
"Following the death of Pi de les Tres Branques, another three-branched pine 300 metres (980 ft) away has been adopted as its successor." --> No source

"Unlike Pi Vell, Pi Jove had escaped the attentions of vandals until more recently, due to its lower political profile and greater distance (200 m) from the road. In 2010, it was discovered with a circumferential cut was made through the bark, in addition to apparent shotgun damage.[26] A group of vandals attacked it in June 2015, attempting to saw through one of its trunks, though it was not thought that the damage was serious enough to kill the affected trunk. As a precaution, in December 2015 arborists installed a frame to hold the three trunks together and ensure their stability.[29] In January 2016, deeper chainsaw cuts on the already-damaged trunk are believed harsh enough to kill the trunk altogether; these vandals also attacked Pi Vell.[30].
"Pi de les Tres Branques, as a symbol of the united Catalan Countries, or simply of Catalan self-determination, has been the site of large political rallies since the turn of the 20th century, at first sporadically, but annually since 1980." --> No source
Please add "Another rally was held in 1915.[13]:3" to the previous paragraph; its current placement looks pretty awkward

"The next major rally was held in 1921, on 25 July, the St. James holiday.[6]:7 The highlight of that event was the inauguration of Pi Jove as the intended replacement for the main tree." --> "The next major rally was held in 1921, on 25 July, the St. James holiday;[6]:7 a key point of the event included the inauguration of Pi Jove as the intended replacement for the original tree."
"Subsequent political developments made it difficult to hold large organised rallies at the site." --> No source
Covered by ref for next sentence
"Catalan political gatherings were banned during the 1923–1930 dictatorship of Miguel Primo de Rivera, travel was difficult during the 1936–1939 Spanish Civil War, and political gatherings were again banned during (and for some time after) the Franco dictatorship of 1939–1975." --> No source
Please reword to the following for stylistic purposes:
Events at the gathering have several times resulted in controversies, and clashes between rival political factions. Following the 1981 event, the Catalan parliament president Heribert Barrera, two parliamentary deputies, and several others, faced criminal charges of "insulting the feelings and unity of the Spanish nation and distributing illegal publications".[40] The charges were dropped after three years.[41] The 1986 gathering was marred by the burning of Spanish flags and harassment of moderate groups. As a result, the mainstream political parties Democratic Convergence and Republican Left stayed away from the 1987 event.[42]:1–2 In 1988, different factions of the far-left Movement for Defence of the Land (MDT) fought each other.[43]:134–135[3]:33–34 In 1991, MDT militants attacked youth members of Democratic Convergence and Republican Left, and in 1996, hooded left-wing militants came from their assembly at Pi Jove to attack members of Estat Català at Pi Vell.[42]:3[44] Since the events of 1996, the authorities have increased security at the gathering, and the event has returned to a peaceful cultural atmosphere.[27][42]:3
I will be placing this article on hold for seven days to allow for changes. Thanks for the review and good luck! Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 21:01, 23 June 2016 (UTC).[reply]
