It's "Fresh", not "Phresh"

[edit]

No where it says the song was stylized to "Phresh Out the Runway". The song is listed as "Fresh Out the Runway" on the CD tracklist as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VSfan88 (talkcontribs) 11:34, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's Phresh. Rihanna wrote it like that when she revealed the tracklist on Instagram. AARONTALK 11:36, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Check on iTunes and Amazon too. — Tomíca(T2ME) 14:28, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be confusion about the song title. The Instagram picture shows Fresh Out the Runway, while, just her site says Phresh Out the Runway. The back cover of the album says Fresh Off the Runway. Statυs (talk) 15:00, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An updated version of the back cover shows Phresh Out the Runway. That's our answer. Statυs (talk) 15:10, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
iTunes reports that the title is "Phresh Out the Runway", according to Amazon is "Fresh Out the Runway" and according to this cover from Amazon is "Phresh Out the Runway". — Tomíca(T2ME) 15:10, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to the article

[edit]

Also:

Following the release of her sixth studio album Talk That Talk (2011) and its six singles—including "We Found Love", a number one hit that topped the charts in more than 20 countries worldwide including the US— Rihanna began "working on the new sound" for her seventh studio album in March 2012, even though she had not yet begun recording.[1] On September 12, 2012, Def Jam France announced via Twitter that Rihanna would release a new single the upcoming week while her seventh studio album is scheduled to be released in November 2012. However, the tweet was shortly deleted and replaced with another clarifying that "more information will be made available tomorrow, Thursday, September 13".[2] Right after her performance at the iHeartRadio music festival in September 2012, Rihanna revealed that her single "Diamonds" would be released the same month.[3] Via her official Twitter account, Rihanna posted series of "teasing" tweets announcing her seventh studio album.[4] On October 11, 2012, in one of her tweets revealed that the title of her new album is Unapologetic.[5]

Pictured French disk-jockey David Guetta produced the song together with Giorgio Tuinfort and The-Dream. During one of the teasing tweets Rihanna wrote, "There's another secret collab on #UNAPOLOGETIC. "Guess who is featured on the #7th song on #UNAPOLOGETIC, HINT: his birthday is tomorrow November #7th."[6] In a followed tweet, she explicitly revealed that the secret artist is the French disk-jockey David Guetta, "Its David phucking Guetta!!!! He also produced Fresh out the Runway, which y'all would NEVERRR believe!! He got that Hood s*** too!!!."[6] Via his official Twitter account, Guetta also responded, "No more secrets I produced for @rihanna with @stargate and @nickyromero right now huge club beat and also my first urban beat fresh off."[6] Rihanna and Guetta have previously collaborated on "Who's That Chick?" (2010), which is included in the re-release of his second studio album One Love (2009), entitled One More Love (2010).[7]

The edits I made prior to Calvin999 reverting were constructive and correct, and thus meaning Till reverted his edits. However Calvin999 reverted the removal of this section of Background. I have said before and I will say again, this is not relevant! None of this information has any relevance to the song itself! It needs to be removed! Iluvrihanna24 (talk) 01:43, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's Background about the album in which the song comes from, hence background information. You don't have a valid point here. Stop looking for things to say which are not constructive. The second paragraph has everything to do with the song, that's a fail on your part. How can you say none of that is relevant? It's all about Guetta and the song. Point proven about how your point is not valid. AARONTALK 02:00, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The information about the background is needed so the readers can see what happened prior the recording and where this song was actually put after that. If you look to Mariah Carey singles or song articles you will find a far more Background from a few years. So please stop removing it. Thank You. — Tomíca(T2ME) 10:00, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think most of this information can stay, except for the sentence "Following the release of her sixth studio album Talk That Talk (2011) and its six singles—including "We Found Love", a number one hit that topped the charts in more than 20 countries worldwide including the US—". I've removed that as it has nothing to do (AT ALL) with this article. Also suggest removing/paraphrasing the quotes from Twitter, they have no relevance or encyclopaedic tone at all. Infobox
  • Is there any reason why mid-dots are used instead of comma's? Just curious.
    No :-). I think it looks better. Lol. AARONTALK 17:32, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Since it is a song, it doesn't actually have a format. To explain better, the song was also released to CD, etc, etc. Formats are used for singles. I'm not sure why that's even a field for songs, actually, as it should never be used (except for promo singles, of course).
    I can't see anything? AARONTALK 17:32, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • David Guetta and Terius Nash (is he actually credited as that?) should be linked in writers, as that section appears first. Also, link Robyn Fenty to Rihanna, since people may not realize that's her real name.
He is only credited as The-Dream for some other things he did, not writing or production. AARONTALK 17:32, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Lead
  • Yeah, Tomica seems to have done everything, but without adding a "done" tag. TSK TSK!

Moving on...

Background and production
  • Not sure what it's so important to go into as much detail about "Diamonds" being announced. Also the album title, it doesn't have anything to do with the song.
  • I don't really think all her tweets are in need of being displayed. Simply write out what she said, translating it into English first, of course (LOL, I couldn't help myself...)
  • "was also co-written" → No need for "also"
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The record engineer was" → Don't like this wording at all, I suggest: "Josh Campbell engineered the song, with assistance from Joel Peters at SARM Studios in London."
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "while it was mixed by Jaycen Joshua at SARM Studios and Metropolis Studios in London." → This should go last, as it is the last thing that's done during the production of a song. Personally, I like wording it along the lines of "The song was finally mixed..."
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Composition and lyrics
  • "the song's composition is "chaotic..." → Missing a word here.
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mentasm is a song, not an album.
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Boston Globe's James Reed labeled "Phresh Out the Runway" a club banger that contains heavy bass "that rumbles more in your chest instead of rattling your feet" → The Boston Globe's James Reed labeled "Phresh Out the Runway" as a club banger containing a heavy bass "that rumbles more in your chest instead of rattling your feet".
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • When quoting song lyrics (and explaining them a bit beforehand), a colon should be used, not a comma.
 DoneTomíca(T2ME) 22:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Critical reception
  • Lead says "mixed to positive".
  • Some issues here too with the quotes.
Live performances
  • Rihanna performed "Phresh Out the Runway" for first time at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show alongside with the lead single from Unapologetic, "Diamonds", on November 7, 2012. → This sort of makes it sound like she performed "Diamonds" also for the first time then. Or did she? Also, there's no need to note what "Diamonds" is, it's not very important.
  • The show is set to air on December 4, 2012 on CBS. → Is it?
  • "It was included..." → What was included?
  • "..."uphill climb"for..." → Missing space
