[edit]Why does the very first sentence explain that he is keeping his salary, as if keeping one's salary is a noteworthy fact? This fact shouldn't even appear on the page, let alone as an explanation of who the man is. Of all the employed humans with wiki pages, how many of them keep their salaries? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.105.194.96 (talk) 18:43, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Criticism Section
[edit]This entire section needs citation.
Role
[edit]This section refers to general and non-time-specific criticisms of the Irish economy, Irish governance culture and the Irish central bank. The role of the central bank relates to financial regulation, monetary policy and financial stability. It does not cover taxation, fiscal policy and national accounts. These relate to the Irish government, parliament, Revenue, and CSO. An evaluation of the role of Philip Lane’s role as governor of the bank should instead refer to developments under his term like revisions to the loan to value and loan to income measures and the introduction of a new systemic risk buffer. Other areas could include his performance at Oireachtas committees, comparison and contrast with his predecessor(s), preparation for Brexit and, perhaps, how he chaired the CSO's Economic Statistics Review Group (it is not clear whether this was actually part of his role of governor at all). Ballystrahan (talk) 07:23, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
The criticism was possibly created in reference to previous Irish central bank heads? Whoever wrote it may have mixed him up. If anything he has not let enough capital into the housing and property market and all available information seems to point to this such as the 20% deposit restriction for non-first time buyers.
