Editor in Chief?
[edit]I'm having trouble finding evidence that Phil Scarf is editor-in-chief of a journal. The reference provided in the article doesn't seem to indicate he is the EiC, just an "editor." Regards, PDCook (talk) 16:28, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- The reference I provided clearly says "Introducing two new editors in 2009 -We are delighted to announce that Rogemar Mamon and Aris Syntetos have joined Phil Scarf as editors of the journal. Rogemar is based at the University of Western Ontario and Aris is based at the University of Salford. This new team reflects the international and thematic scope of the journal." If Phil Scarf was the original editor and the other two have joined him as editors, that would suggest that (at least for the period before Rogemar Mamon and Aris Syntetos became editors) he would have been editor in chief (as he would have been the only editor!) Does that help? Steve-Ho (talk) 17:38, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- This link also suggests there are three editors and a whole bunch of sub editors. Whilst this archive.org grab from 2007 suggests he was one of three editors then? Steve-Ho (talk) 17:44, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- I can find him as an editor since October 2004, using archive.org to retrieve past pages. At that point he became one of three editors of the same journal. He is the only consistent editor of the three editors since that point - over 5 years, so I would think that makes him the senior editor for the Journal, so in effect Editor-in-Chief Steve-Ho (talk) 18:00, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Just to confirm I removed the PROD after PdCook agreed not to contest and move to AFD as per evidence above as Chief Editor for journal Steve-Ho (talk) 21:22, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- And just to confirm, I didn't find any evidence that Phil Scarf has the title Chief Editor. He is one of three editors (indeed, more senior in rank than the associate editors and possibly his co-editors), but let's not use terminology that isn't supported by the references. Nonetheless, I think this professor barely squeaks by as notable if we invoke Wikipedia:Ignore all rules. PDCook (talk) 02:19, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
