The homeless controversy

[edit]

I agree with the sentiments expressed by the Editor regarding Flannery's attack on the homeless. That said, I don't think that such opinions fit with the factual nature of Wikipedia. Could I suggest that the Editor (or someone) writes an Opinion piece for Online Opinion, which will mean that we'll be able to cite this. Research17 (talk) 04:32, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As the previous post was not factual in nature, and thus not appropriate for Wikipedia, it's not that surprising that it's been deleted. What I've tried to do, however, in this paragraph is to be factual, that is, to indicate exactly what has happened, and to be even-handed, that is, indicating both the justification from Flannery and what his critics are saying. And I've used as many references as possible. If you have concerns, I suggest we discuss on this Talk Page. I suspect this is going to be an issue on which there are divided opinions, but I am still hopeful that we can reach consensus on this.
