Deletion
[edit]This creature seems to exist nowhere besides Borges' book and sources citing it, and was made solely for that purpose. As such I think it deserves mention on the book's page, but not a complete entry for itself. Sphenacodon (talk) 21:21, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Then merge the appropriate content there and redirect this page there. -- GB fan 01:36, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Sphenacodon: @GB fan: Borges's Book of Imaginary Beings uses a number of real sources which are somewhat obscure, such as Fearsome Creatures of the Lumberwoods, With a Few Desert and Mountain Beasts so make sure you are not jumping the gun.
- In this case, Borges did not invent the folklore. I've added the French source for the velue into the article. --Kiyoweap (talk) 10:29, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- I was not jumping any gun. The article was marked for deletion with the comment "Pure Borges fabrication, contents should be moved to the Book of Imaginary Beings page". The tagger also left the above comment. I declined the speedy deletion request and left the comment that if what they are saying is true then the appropriate content should be merged and this should be redirected. My only involvement with this article is to decline the speedy deletion request and provide a possible way forward to the tagger. ~ GB fan 12:03, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, I jumped the gun there myself. Looks like there are references after all! Sphenacodon (talk) 19:13, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
