Protection of British Embassies

Queen Mum
[edit]The sentence about the Queen Mother; Does this mean the DPG were her bodyguards, that they protected Clarence House, or that they provided escorts at her funeral? As is, it's a bit vague. I thought as a member of the Royal Family, she was protected by SO14 officers. 74.69.11.229 (talk) 13:44, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
SO6 vs. SO16
[edit]Even with a little googling, damned if I know what's going on with the SO designations. Anyone in the know able to update the article? Bromley86 (talk) 21:01, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
Move and merger proposals
[edit]I have a proposal and a question.
First, that Palace of Westminster Division (SO17) be merged into Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection (PaDP), because SO17 is now part of PaDP, as stated in the article.
Second, should the article title be "Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection" or "Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command", as the latter is its full/proper name? RadiculousJ (talk) 23:38, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- My view is that the SO17 article should be merged, its one of the history bits of this article in effect so it would make sense to me. Re title, the command is actually Protection Command, made up of two elements or branches, PaDP, this element, and RaSP (Royalty and Specialist Protection). So it might inaccurate to add 'Command' to the title of this article. Dibble999 (talk) 17:38, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Dibble999: I see now I was being overly reliant on one source, and as such withdraw my move proposal. Thanks, RadiculousJ (talk) 14:01, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Support merge per nom. Rob984 (talk) 03:15, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
- Support, as long as the name remains 'Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection'. 07Alpha55 (talk) 13:13, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 11:00, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
