Notability
[edit]PCRL is notable due to its strong links with the Handsworth riots, a period of civil disorder on a par with the Los Angeles riots. Its notability stems from its own in-house news coverage and in-house appeals for calm. Its music coverage, whilst prolific, is not especially notable as there were plenty of other pirate stations covering the rap/reggae/soul/hip-hop genres at that time in the West Midlands- many of those, like PCRL, putting out their own music on their own record labels. The focus of this article, therefore, should be on the station's connections to civil unrest in Handsworth, Birmingham UK. Andrew Oakley 10:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
