Comments
[edit]Partial copy of some comments I gave TT on my talkpage:
The Bond outline strikes me as a bad idea. It barely lists an iota more than the templates (or the portal). It looks great, but serves (to me) as a bad example of what outlines do not do better than portals. Nice embedded timelines, but this is one instance I'd say that it would be better to merge improvements to the templates, and use the templates and timelines at the portal/articles. -- Quiddity (talk) 21:54, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Financially second to Harry Potter
[edit]"The character has also been used in the long running and second most financially successful English language film series to date (behind Harry Potter)." - I wonder, have the figures been adjusted for inflation? --188.67.181.28 (talk) 22:57, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
Timeline
[edit]Sorry for the piles of edits, but I think I managed to get Never say Never Again (non-Eon) and Octopussy (Eon films) on 1983. It took a lot of trial and error, it seems to have worked. The trick was to use the dollar up and dollar down commands before the text command and not anywhere inside it. A great thing to remember for any other 2 events on same timeline, the other trick was to use a separate command line for each of the two events. If there are other programming tricks to make it more efficient, give it a whirl. Enjoy! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.100.128.226 (talk) 22:30, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
- Looks good. Thanks for your work. –Quiddity (talk) 00:02, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
- will add Casino Royale shortly - it should be there if we're adding the non-Eon films. - SchroCat (talk) 05:52, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Quick explanation of Wikipedia outlines
[edit]"Outline" is short for "hierarchical outline". There are two types of outlines: sentence outlines (like those you made in school to plan a paper), and topic outlines (like the topical synopses that professors hand out at the beginning of a college course). Outlines on Wikipedia are primarily topic outlines that serve 2 main purposes: they provide taxonomical classification of subjects showing what topics belong to a subject and how they are related to each other (via their placement in the tree structure), and as subject-based tables of contents linked to topics in the encyclopedia. The hierarchy is maintained through the use of heading levels and indented bullets. See Wikipedia:Outlines for a more in-depth explanation. The Transhumanist 23:56, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
