Incoming Draft:Anadoluvius
[edit]@Rlendog and Plantdrew: You are two "recent" editors to this article. There is a draft that looks to supplant the article and move it to a new genus. Can you weigh in? I've left a comment on the draft saying it isn't time yet, but I'd like a few additional eyes and thoughts on the subject. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:31, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
- I am not sure. It may be premature. On the other hand there do seem to be a bunch of sources that picked up the new name, albeit for a day as something new and who knows if it has staying power: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. Rlendog (talk) 01:31, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, that aligns with where I'm at with it as well. - UtherSRG (talk) 10:39, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
- It would impact several other articles. Graecopithecus is a well developed article and mentions O. turkae, and should presumably mention Anadoluvius. Ouranopithecus would be monotypic rendering an article for Ouranopithecus turkae redundant (unless Ouranopithecus is made to focus on taxonomic history including Ouranopithecus turkae). Ayla Sevim is the second author on the paper describing O. turkae, and the first author for Anadoluvius, so there would be some consistency in continuing to track her thinking, but it'd be nice to see if other researchers concur. 19:14, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
