Not part of the South African Border War
[edit]The South African Border War has typically been defined as the conflict between the SADF and PLAN/FAPLA in South West Africa and Angola. While it was closely intertwined with a number of regional conflicts (broadly speaking, the SADF was also involved in the Rhodesian Bush War, the Mozambican Civil War, and the Angolan Civil War) these conflicts are not one and the same. It is erroneous to describe what was essentially a Rhodesian operation against ZIPRA as being part of the South African Border War, even if it did take place in the same theatre were the latter was being fought and did involve SADF aircraft.
I have removed all references to Operation Vanity being part of the South African Border War, as it involved neither PLAN or FAPLA.
