The contents of the Deepsea page were merged into Odfjell Drilling on 2011-11-11. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page.
I propose to merge Deepsea into this article. The company was just a holding company for one single drilling rig. This is not enough for notability as creation a holding companies to manage ships is quite usual practice in the shipping and offshore drilling business. Beagel (talk) 18:50, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The "problem" is that Deepsea was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, making it both (at least for a while) independent of Odfjell Drilling, and making Deepsea itself inherently notable. Arsenikk(talk)19:33, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
According to WP:LISTED publicly traded corporations are not inherently notable. Their notability should be established by reliable third party sources. Also, even taking account that a minority stake of Deepsea was publicly traded, it was still majority-owned by Odfjell Drilling and was its subsidiary. There are also some factual errors on the Deepsea article I would try to fix. Beagel (talk) 11:32, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I propose also to merge Odfjell Invest into this article. The company is just a holding company for rig which is not enough for notability as creation a holding companies to manage ships is quite usual practice in the shipping and offshore drilling business. It was listed in the Oslo stock exchange for the short period but delisted now. According to WP:LISTED publicly traded corporations are not inherently notable. Their notability should be established by reliable third party sources. Beagel (talk) 10:48, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
