Removed aussie information from Nurse

[edit]

G'day all. Thought I had left a note here last night, but the post must've been interrupted. Just wanted to let you know I have (as promised) started to remove the country-specific sections from Nurse, replacing them with links to external pages such as Nursing in Australia. You already had all the information on this page anyway, but just in case you want to go back and look at the section in the Nurse article, here's the diff.

Let me know if I can do anything to help here, I worked in Sydney for four years. Cheers, Basie (talk) 04:53, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NURSE priority review

[edit]

As part of a review of all nursing wikiproject articles, I have changed this article's importance to mid per Wikipedia:WikiProject Nursing/Assessment#Importance scale. I have also added start class. If you disagree, please leave a note here so we can discuss it. Cheers, Basie (talk) 05:54, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have substantially added to the page, believe it is no longer "start" class.Adamm (talkcontribs) 06:21, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nice page people. --Jones.liam (talk) 01:48, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone object to a few lines on South Australia?

Of course not! Please do!! Adamm (talkcontribs) 10:19, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Assistant in Nursing?

[edit]

Just wondering if anyone would be willing to write a few sentences on Nursing Assistants here in Australia? They're pretty important to some hospitals... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.175.222.248 (talk) 13:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edits February 2023

[edit]

I went through the article and supplied reliable references to everything that was marked "citation needed". Have replaced some references with stonger sources. Also refashioned the introduction which was a bit of a mixed blessing. Some references supplied in good faith (I hasten to add!) have directions to firewalled sources which are of little use. Happy to discuss Adamm (talkcontribs) 03:34, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fail—empty sections with maintenance templates. Too many such templates are grounds for an immediate failure. Criteria 3 of the good article criteria also stipulates that an article be broad in its coverage and there are evidently many sections missing. Articles should be relatively complete before nomination. As for the citations and images, they look quite adequate. Some sections, namely § History of nursing education and § Nurse practitioners, have some sentences which need citing. Other lines, like "(See examples)" and URLs ("accredited nursing education programs") are not necessary, and "(ENs)" and "registered nurse" do not have to have boldfaced text. The grammar, scope and section formatting look pretty good thus far, however. Once the sections are complete and everything is cited with reliable sources—and the text looks adequate—you can definitely renominate this article. This article certainly has potential and you seem really dedicated to writing it. Goodluck, and feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you ever have any questions. I'll try my best to answer them to the best of my abilities :)  LunaEatsTuna (💬)— 20:04, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article assessment

[edit]

Overall, the article is comprehensive and well written. The following improvements are needed.

  • Several citation needed (cn) tags indicate information that needs sources.
  • The entire section History of nursing in Australia should be moved into a seperate article, and a "Main article" tag here in this article.
  • The section History of nursing education can be condensed. See an example from "Nursing in Canada" article here how sub-sections help for easier reading.

"Rater" software (not always accurate) shows prediction of 94-percent for Class B or higher. With the above changes, a Class upgrade may be possible, at least Class C with the additional sources. BTW, one of my sibilings was an emergency room nurse for many years, so I do know details of some medical topics (United States). Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 01:58, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
