Featuring artist
[edit]If I may, why does it have a featuring artist? in it, did she release it as a remix with him? Explode24 18:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- From what I've seen, the single itself features Damian Marley. Kind of like how the album version of "Luxurious" doesn't feature Slim Thug but the single version is a "remix" with him making a guest rap. 17Drew 08:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Next Single
[edit]Billboard has confirmed that Gwen Stefani is releasing Early Winter as her fifth single: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/discography/index.jsp?JSESSIONID=BT8gGC1XmbL6hhfh62Fmj1QKn5Z9SpTsQ0L74yKgPBXm2HcDvVhZ%21-1141656175&pid=239085&aid=1079194 Orpheuss
Music video
[edit]17Drew, why do you keep removing what I wrote about the music video. I have a source for it. Explode24 14:47, 19 August 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
- As I told you on your talk page a few minutes before you posted this, blogs are not reliable sources. 17Drew 05:12, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Has any noticed an uncanny resemblance to No Doubt's “Underneath it All” video? I understand that both vids are Jamaican themed, but surely there is more to do in Jamaica than ride bikes and dance in front of walls. Not that’s is really relevant on the article, I am just wondering if “Underneath it All” popped into any minds upon seeing “Now That You Got It” —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.114.178.75 (talk) 12:01, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, honestly, even i felt the same. The second half of Underneath It all matches this new video. Luxurious.gaurav 13:25, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
If you ask me the video is not really that good. But thats just my thought of the video. Explode24 08:36, 18 September 2007 (UTC) (Australian time)
If you've got a HQ version of the video, it's easy to see what she's typing, it's showing a part of lyric from the song, instead of SMSing with someone to come to the party.Ckam (talk) 05:49, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Charts
[edit]I want to know who is removing what i wrote abour the single chart history in Colombia if i wrote my source: Colombian Singles Chart, the official, i wrote the source, why didn't you read the source before you removed the citation?. Source: [[1]]. The song peaked #68 by the time Gwen performed in Bogotá, 3 weeks ago, this week the song is at #100 cesarc1989 10:55, 29 august 2007
- I was the one to do so. I have no personal grudges or anything. But wikipedia rules say minor music markets should not be mentioned. If you see, many articles like Hollaback Girl or Rich Girl, you will find that minor markets like Colombia are not mentioned. Discussions on this have aleady been done. It should be noted that Colombia is not being called minor here, but it is not a mojor market for music. Luxurious.gaurav 10:42, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- it's funny that you called us "minor music market" if it was the first music market to performed, and if you didn't know, the single here is the remix with Marley and it was released before any other music market. cesarc1989 10:52, 30 August 2007
[2] Please refer to this. Colombia has not been listed in the top twenty. Even countries like Russia, which is in Top twenty are not mentioned in the articles, Colombia certainly can't be mentioned. And the song has "charted" early, not released (even though i find this point irrational, i would like to make it clear that the song charted weeks back in Romania). It has not been released as a vinyl yet, but digital downloads are always available, which is released togther worldwide, and thus, it has charted. I never meant to hurt Colombian feelings. Luxurious.gaurav 16:26, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I didn't wrote that because you hurted my feeling at all. What is irrational is that several singles here in Wikipedia show the single performance in Colombia, so, I thought that it was "important" but now i see it isn't; that was my mistake. cesarc1989 11:05, 31 August 2007
I am so glad to see kind replies, which are so rare nowdays. Thank You! Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Luxurious.gaurav 17:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- You know, until the song charts in USA,UK,Australia, etc,we could just post the charts were it's on(Columbia,Romania..)and when the important music markets have this song on charts,we could just remove the minor markets and add the important ones.Like my ideea?Alecsdaniel 12:41, 06 septembrie 2007 (UTC)
- It is better to have a stub article( an article which is very small and less informative) rather than having a huge article which has mostly insignificant information (no attempt to hurt any feelings, see above). This article will see an expansion in due course of time. Even if the song charts on the top 20 music markets (See [3]) , we will put it up, but the source should be reliable. Thank You. :) Luxurious.gaurav 09:54, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, I support Alecsdaniel's sentiment. WP:CHARTS simply places limits on how many charts are used, not which ones, to prevent bloated tables of numbers that water down any important information. However, I would recommend against using the Colombian Singles Chart. There's no way to verify that the single's current position is higher than its previous positions, and in a few months, it'll likely be impossible to even verify that the single charted in Colombia. The Romanian Singles Chart seems to have an archive, so it would be reasonable to use positions from there until the section needs to be trimmed. 17Drew 03:34, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Lead
[edit]Flawless. Just put the year of "The Sweet Escape Tour" between brackets. Done
Background and release
[edit]- "Swizz Beatz and he said he was working with Stefani as well" - re-write sentence. For example: "...and he said to be working with Stefani as well"
Done
- "Two remixes were included on the CD single, both featuring Marley. The "remix" version is a more reggae-infused rendition, while the "hybrid" version features the song's original beat mixed with the remix version." - What do you mean with "hybrid"? Does it have the same instrumental as the single, different lyrics? Be precise.
Done
Composition and lyrics
[edit]- "The original version". How about the single version?
Done
- I see no reference to the "reggae fusion" genre.
Done
- Any digital sheet music?
- Much like the case with Asking 4 It, there is no readily available sheet music on Sony ATV's website, or any other reliable source for that matter
Ok then. Done
- I was thinking about adding a sample, however, I'm unsure since it's maximum length would be, "0:15". What do you think?
- I agree that it would be rather short if included. Carbrera (talk) 21:56, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
- You could include anyway. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:48, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
Critical reception
[edit]- "and Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine called it "instantly contagious"." → and Sal Cinquemani, while reviewing the album, of Slant Magazine called it "instantly contagious".
Done
- "Alex Miller of the NME, however"→ Before "Alex" needs a linking word that helps discern the "favorable" reviews from the "critics" one.
Done
- "John Murphy of musicOMH was mixed" → I know what you mean, but you can't write it like this. It seems the reviewer is mixed, just like mixed nuts! "John Murphy of musicOMH gave the single a mixed review, writing". No need for "that".
Done
- "making songs which are all strident and sleek and modern and shiny and brassy and tough on the outside, but which have a delicate core in the middle which is pure and vulnerable and nervous and a little timid" → use your own words.
Done
Commercial performance
[edit]- moderate success on the charts. In the United States, it was commercially unsuccessful..." → Needs an "however, nevertheless...". moderate success on the charts. Nevertheless, in the United States..."
Done
- "her lowest-selling solo single" → How do you know? I don't see sales references.
Done
- "In Australasia, the single performed very moderately..." → Full stop after moderately. It debuted at...
Done
Music video
[edit]- "part of The Sweet Escape Tour" → as part of The Sweet Escape Tour
Done
- "Many parts of the video were shot in a studio." → any example
Done
- " The video premiered on MTV's Total Request Live on September 4, 2007." → reference?
Done
Storyline
[edit]- "The chorus begins and Stefani, Harajuku Girls and Marley and playing board games under a shelter near the lake side." → "As the chorus begins Stefani, the Harajuku Girls and Marley are playing board games under a shelter near the lake side."
Done
- "The video concludes with Harajuku Girls and the boys on the roof, Stefani and the girls singing on the scooters." → Doesn't flow well the part "on the roof, Stefani and the girls".
Done
- Everything else is fine, but how about some sources to back up such description?
I don't see any description on the website you provided. Not done
- I haven't found any sources to back up the description minus the official music video, so I have added that for now. Carbrera (talk) 21:30, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- The official video is just fine. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:20, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
Live performances
[edit]- "Stefani's first performance of the track was on the UK's television show Ant & Dec on September 29, 2007. She performed the original version of the song, but ended with a reggae mix". → other source that is not YouTube. The channel that uploaded that must have violated copyright issues.
Done
- Any reviews regarding that performance?
"several critics appreciating the energy of the performance." → I see one critic. Not done Done
Track listings
[edit]- References? I see none.
Done
Credits and personnel
[edit]- I would link mastering, keyboards, mixing and so on. Only once each one of them.
Done
Charts
[edit]- Just fine.
Done
Release history
[edit]- You have a "scope="row"" in Europe, delete it.
Done
- Find another source that is not Discogs. Not reliable.
Done I removed it
References
[edit]- Some references have publisher and work, others only have work. Choose one of the options.
Done
- Reference 23 is dead. Replace it and archive it.
Done
