Bye-elections vs by-elections

The user reverting my edits is also doing this on the by-election page. Indian sources might have used bye-election rather than by-election, but until I find out North Tyneside is in India, I'll continue to re-add my edits.

Both spellings are completely acceptable. UK sources happily use Bye election. The ironic thing here is that bye election is used by North Tyneside Council as shown here. Sport and politics (talk) 13:16, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In both of these sources from the Council by-election is used.
