North or North West London?
[edit]There seems to be some disagreement about this. Anon user 80.47.249.191 feels that the fact it is in NW10 is the deciding factor. However, postcodes have one purpose and one purpse only - to help the Royal Mail deliver letters. The extent of the NW postcode area does not necessarilly coincide with North West London. If you took postcode areas as the only factor, there would be no such thing as South London. The West London article suggests that London Borough of Ealing belongs in West London. Unless there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary, it would seem describng the station as in West London is the safest option. DrFrench 10:43, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Thank you DrFrench.
North Acton (as an area) is indeed WEST London, regardless of the station's postal code. The postcode mentioned (NW10) is in fact Willesden, not Acton. As a long-standing resident of North Acton, let me assure everyone we certainly do NOT live in North-West London (although the confusion is understandable). I would therefore request individuals desist from basing their 'facts' merely on postal districts alone, as they are not the ONLY method of defining an area in this part of London.
New station
[edit]It seems valid to be able to mention on any station page, news about a new adjacent station.
Agreed that Park Royal is too far away to influence moving North Acton (except in technical terms - it could be part of the same project. Eventually, with a more intense service, there could also be proper reversing sidings either end of North Acton station, independent of the middle platform for that purpose now.)
As of mid-2009, the five-year-old Diageo agreement for a new station is lapsing with Brent Council, and they are trying to renege, er, renegotiate the deal. Currently, Diageo must build a new station when a third office block is built at First Central.
