I agree with the quoted analyst that any hacking that occurred isn't a key cause of Nortel's ultimate demise (and the cited computer professor was just offering his own personal speculation; he doesn't have any business analysis credentials to lend credence to his thoughts). Nortel's handling of its balance sheet is a fully reasonable explanation behind its problems; by Occam's Razor, there's no need to look for more fanciful explanations.
