– WP:COMMONNAME Eight months ago a user named Kaldari moved page from Nora Perry to Nora Perry (badminton) without even initiating a formal discussion. They just left an edit summary stating other Nora Perry, the Writer is 'definitely' more notable than the player. The fact is the sports personality Nora Perry is legend of her sport, she has won six World Championship medals, 2 Golds, 2 Silvers, 2 Bronzes and 8 times finalist in European Championship with 4 Gold medals, additionally 2 bronzes as well. And the biggest tournament of badminton the All England for Eight times, these records led her to Badminton Hall of Fame in 1999 and is one of the greatest mixed doubles player in badminton history. She is even the Member of order of British Empire and a member of Badminton World Federation. I request to please undo the move done by Kaldari. Thanks 🌌Zoglophie🌌15:45, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. I do not think this subject meets either aspect of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Looking at usage, from the date after the page move to yesterday, the badminton player has received a daily average of 4 page views/day, and the writer 2, with a total of 1,543 page views over the eight month span between the two of them. In regards to long-term significance, we are looking for substantially greater enduring notability and educational value than any other topic associated with that term (italics added). I'm leaning oppose as well. The badminton player gets more views, but not by such a great margin that I would call it primary wrt usage. The fact that the writer gets comparable views even though her career was about 150 years ago (vs. 50 years for the badminton player) suggests she has a bit of an edge in terms of long-term significance. Seems like a WP:NOPRIMARY situation. Colin M (talk) 15:09, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Those numbers are misleading, because for most of that period the article for the badminton player was at the base name. Colin M (talk) 15:40, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
