Edit war
[edit]This is directed at both Aniketp007 (t c) and Neelkamala (t c): this edit warring needs to stop. I suggest that while you are blocked, both of you should read Wikipedia:Edit warring and Wikipedia:Bold, revert, discuss, and Wikipedia:Vandalism for good measure.
There is no excuse for edit warring, period. Not even if you think you're "right", and not even if you can quote a policy to back up the edit you're making. Discuss the issue on the article's talk page, or request page protection from an admin BEFORE you start edit warring -- don't just undo someone else's work repeatedly because you disagree with them.
Also, yes, obvious vandalism is an exception to the rules about edit warring, but none of these edits are obvious vandalism. Just flinging the word "vandalism" around doesn't excuse edit warring. When your blocks expire, please discuss your disagreements here or on one of your own talk pages, civilly, or you may end up blocked again if you start edit warring again. —Darkwind (talk) 09:27, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- User:Aniketp007 started this wikipage, this can be checked here. He only edits this page and no other page on wikipedia, which makes me suspects his intention whether he is paid to do this. He reverts changes that reveal the xenophobic nature of this politician who threatens people of a particular community to "pack them of". Instead Aniket007 puts promotional fluff like "Sindhudurg Tour Guide" which is linked to self-published sources and should have been removed for being in violation of WP:SPS. I tried my best to point out the inaccuracies here but not going to waste my time fighting an obvious online PR tool, I have better things to do. Thanks. Neelkamala (talk) 10:47, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Neelkamala:, it was hard for me to believe you have indulged yourself in edit war. I liked your contributions on pages like Prostitution in India. But if you want to allege WP:COI, we have got a separate noticeboard for that. If you and him are going to call each other's edits a 'vandalism', I think any one of you or both of you will face a block. For now, the current version seems nice to me. Any other changes should be discussed here, if they are related with the same dispute. Thanks, good luck with your editing. OccultZone (Talk) 12:55, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that COI notice board, I sought help from admins here and here but ended up getting the short end of the stick. Sometimes wikipedia behaves like Indian bureaucracy, you seek help and they punish you citing some arcane rule. BTW what is your opinion on that Sindhudurg tour guide section, Shouldn't that be removed since its obvious PR speak from a unreliable source. Thanks for you kind words and support. Neelkamala (talk) 15:22, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
- You both tried. Check[1], and all this admin did was that they made general fixes to his post.[2] I would be interested in hearing that what type of 'bureaucracy' that is. WP:AIAV is for those users who have never made even a single constructive edit. On this subject, I would just say that this page is relatively small, travel guide links can be removed if they are speaking more than the travel tips, if you can arrange the reliable source for the information it will be better, but I think that there's one reliable source added to the summary. - @OccultZone: @Josve05a: @Darkwind: it was neelkamala who started abusive editing by using words like "notorious" and the user deliberately marked me for posting unverified content which i did not post, saying that i posted promotional content,it was first posted by [[3]] i re-added that content with verifiable citations, user is still trying to portray a negative of him,the person is not known for making comments against all the gujarati community,it is a local issue in city of mumbai only,he has only tweeted regarding gujarati community residing in mumbai, user is still quoting text from twitter account, neelkamala was very confident that only i will get blocked for reverting edits but even neelkamala got blocked so it was a setback for neelkamala,it was pretty hard to digest Aniketp007 (talk) 16:43, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
- I won't disagree with you. But only solution will be, that you both will have to collaborate, if you really want to contribute on this page. If he has tweeted against a specific group, it is a notable event, just like his charity work. OccultZone (Talk) 17:43, 3 May 2014 (UTC)
- @OccultZone: @Josve05a: @Darkwind: i am not against adding notable events if they are fully sourced but i strongly oppose some phrases neelkamala had added like "the person is KNOWN for xenophobic comments against particular community", user has used loaded language to influence the readers so that whoever reads the article will think that nitesh rane is a racist and opposing all the community people, user is trying to hide why he has tweeted against that community, this quote is from the news source which neelkamala has added explains everything "Rane junior took to Twitter to vent his frustration against housing societies dominated by Gujarati speaking residents that insist on renting out or selling homes only to vegetarians" i had added this but neelkamala removed my edits and also neelkamala quoted his tweet of 25 june 2013 which is based on an unverified news, there is no need to add that quote, i have not removed that edits yet but i think those edits should get removed and sindhudurg tour guide is not a travel agency, its name of his initiative which gives training to unemployed people,i have added a strong source with respect to itAniketp007 (talk) 04:10, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
- @OccultZone: i have edited the controversies section,i have written 2013 events in historical manner, reverted the quote which was based on an unverified news that modi saved 15000 people in 2 days, also reverted contentious material like the person has taken a vow to distribute meat in black bags and keep them outside peoples doorsteps, user trying to present a hoax as factual,it will mislead readers and will cause them to believe that it is going to happen. Aniketp007 (talk) 12:22, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- User:Aniketp007 you keep claiming verified news from reputed news sites is "hoax" and continue deleting them but they will be re-added since they are reliable sources as per WP:RS. I suggest you stop wasting our time with your petty edit warring.--Neelkamala (talk) 09:21, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Controversies about people are not included with a header called "Controversies". They should be blended in the article in other sections. Though not the best subtitle, when i cleaned this article many months back, i included all these so-called controversies in the "In media" section. I named it such because that how the subject has been in media highlights. Feel free to rename it to something else. We don't use such c-words. I guess User:OccultZone would agree on that. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 19:26, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- Yes I agree with your proposal. Here, the story is different because we have to agree on a version. "In media" is actually specific and appropriate to the point, 'controversies' is more of a opinion, because his remarks probably got praises, not just criticism. OccultZone (Talk) 03:02, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- @OccultZone: @Dharmadhyaksha: i have merged it in "In media" section. Aniketp007 (talk) 11:50, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- Renamed controversy section to Tweets against Gujarati Community.Neelkamala (talk) 09:26, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- WHY??? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 13:16, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Agreed. Neelkamala, you have to provide the reason as well. OccultZone (Talk) 04:15, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- @OccultZone: @Dharmadhyaksha: i don't know why @Neelkamala: trying to portray negative image of me.neelkamala did all a senior editor can do to overpower a rookie like me, from requesting to block me,directly attacked me by saying i'm a vandal, his promotional agent, went on to indirectly say that wikipedia is PR agency platform,to requesting semi-protection for this page but to no avail, neelkamala should put aside the so called senior editor ego.

- @OccultZone: @Dharmadhyaksha: sindhudurg tour guide and naukri express are notable enough to have few sentences written about them.
