Nationality dispute - page protected
[edit]I have protected this page due to an edit-war dispute over this person's nationality and heritage, for which I found no sources in the article. Per WP:BLPREMOVE and WP:BURDEN, I have removed all mention of the player's nationality. Please discuss here. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:47, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Saying no sources discuss nationality is not correct. A number of sources already present in the article clearly say that he is 'Dutch' - see this and this and this, amongst many, many others. GiantSnowman 16:50, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was checking the source beside the sentence discussing his parents, which contained no biographical information at all, and the other mentions of his nationality did not appear to have sources. I'll add back the Dutch categories. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:14, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Although the Suriprofs and a mixture of Suriprofs and Natio (the official Suriname team) play against other countries, this isn't the official Suriname national team. Surinamese people in the Netherlands in general don't have a Surinamese passport. The situation hasn't really changed since 2014. [1]. Cattivi (talk) 00:01, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- @SWAGnificient: your comments would be welcome. Please do not ignore this. GiantSnowman 19:12, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
