As a gay man I have to say that the vast majority of what I've seen there is laugh-out-loud funny, and not for the right reasons, or just eyeroll-worthy. This is not to mock the archive. It has a noble purpose and goal. However, people seeking to use the content there as a testament — an adequate representation of gay erotic thoughts — should reconsider that. I think this goes beyond the issue of more talented writers trying to make money with their content (and, therefore, publishing elsewhere) but that also seems to be part of it. What's the most unfortunate about it, though, is that it has been as staple of the Internet for a very long time and it's now becoming harder to find it. It's hard to believe but censorship is increasing as the Internet develops, rather than the opposite. One can't even find this Wikipedia result in Startpage normally because it's filtered by a so-called "family filter" — as if families are different than other humans. There is so much cognitive nonsense associated with erotica, like the XXX nonsense in terms of how this article is organized. "XXX" according to whom? "Pornography" is what? Everyone needs to challenge all the assumptions, many of which are archaic and silly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.233.2.200 (talk) 22:02, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
