Criminal Record?
[edit]The sole source for the assertion of criminal convictions is in a London newspaper article about a non-crime the subject of the article committed, according to the FBI, as quoted in the article.
The article does assert he has a criminal record going back to 1997, but gives no times, dates or places. The bare assertion isn't enough. If someone can source the conviction(s) a bit less thinly, they shoul go back in, but not on the basis of this one article. David in DC (talk) 17:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- See Julie Kay, "Judge Rebuffs Stock Exchange's Request to Yank Information Posted by Animal Rights Groups", Daily Business Review June 2007. "Atwood has been arrested several times ... The incidents included painting a red anti-hunting message on the stainless steel swordfish on the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum in Dania Beach, Fla., protesting at a circus in West Palm Beach and screaming "Meat is murder" while wearing a pig mask atop an Oscar Mayer 'wienermobile'." See also, Dave Barry, "A Frank Exchange", Miami Herald, July 13, 1997 and "Two charged for defacing Broward fishing museum," Palm Beach Post, December 21, 1998. I didn't think a detailed list of his criminal record was appropriate, hence the summary sourced from the The Times. Rockpocket 18:03, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- I was wrong. good call. Sorry. David in DC (talk) 18:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not a problem. I'm not a huge fan of the criminal categories myself, but as long as they are there I figure we should populate them. Rockpocket 18:23, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- There's an RfC going on at the talk page for the American Criminals category, right now. Might be worth chiming in. David in DC (talk) 18:27, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

LOL. no real encyclopaedia would use a newspaper as its sole sources. They are notoriously unreliable (Christopher Jefferies anyone) Avery has never met Atwood, total nonsense as usual.
