* ... that Nicolas-Joseph Platel's playing inspired his future student Alexandre Batta to switch from the violin to the cello?
- ALT1: ... that French cellist Nicolas-Joseph Platel is considered the founder of the Belgian school of cello playing? Source: "Nicolas-Joseph Platel, was born in Versailles" "He was regarded as the founder of the Belgian school of cello playing"
- ALT2: ... that Nicolas-Joseph Platel left Paris to go on a concert tour but ended up staying in Quimper for two years after making a friend there? Source: "In 1805 he left Paris in order to undertake a concert tour, but at Quimper, where he made the acquaintance of a cello playing dilettante, he remained quite two years"

- The article was nominated the day after creation, and is long enough and adequately sourced. I did not find any close paraphrasing, and AGF on the offline or non-English sources. Among the three hooks proposed, I am only approving ALT1 as the other two hooks may be more specialist or at least not as easily understandable (I don't think ALT0 works if the reader doesn't know who Battas is, and the importance of Quimper is not clear). ALT1 is a rather exceptional claim, but given multiple sources, one of which I could access, it should be fine in this case. This is the nominator's second nomination so no QPQ is required.
- As an aside, I'm just curious so I'd like to ask either 4meter4 or CurryTime7-24 regarding this: I'm not familiar with Battas and I've never heard of his name before: how well-known is he in music circles? I'm asking because I'm wondering if Battas is a fairly well-known name and regular readers might actually be familiar with him and thus ALT0 may have some appeal (although regardless, only ALT1 being approved stands). - @Narutolovehinata5 I've never heard of Battas. I'd say he is an obscure figure to anyone who isn't a historic violinist nerd, which is most people. I've scratched it. In my opinion, Alt1 is the best of the three hooks. 4meter4 (talk) 14:27, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5 He's new to me too. Ditto on ALT1. I think a good hook could also be made from the statement that at one point he was considered the greatest cellist in France. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 16:08, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- @AsYouWish13: Pinging regarding the above responses. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 16:15, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, ALT1 sounds good! Thank you for the review. AsYouWish13 (talk) 01:05, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
