External links modified (February 2018)
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on NSW TrainLink Intercity Train Project. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20151002055957/http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/b2b/projects/Intercity_Fleet_Kangy_Angy_notification_Sep_2015_0.pdf to http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/b2b/projects/Intercity_Fleet_Kangy_Angy_notification_Sep_2015_0.pdf
When you have finished reviewing my changes, you may follow the instructions on the template below to fix any issues with the URLs.

No source information is stated
[edit]A lot of people on the Facebook appreciation group for this train say the earliest these trains will enter service 2022. Every time I say "best case scenario Q3 2021", they say "no 2022". Please tell me which source information you read that says it's been outlined that the new trains will enter service in 2021 not 2022 and send it to me because I need to know when exactly in 2021 they will enter service. Edgar Searle (talk) 08:18, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
- Appears that they are in service (Even though I would never cite reddit): https://www.reddit.com/r/sydney/comments/nrr4kn/new_train_at_epping_station/ -Amckern (talk) 01:11, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, but in that image the indicator board says "charter for special ticket holders", and behind the doors are "testing/do not board" barriers preventing passengers from entering the train. So I'm afraid you weren't right that they had entered service. Sorry. Edgar Searle (talk) 02:54, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
Traction equipment
[edit]I've been reading the best source information I could find, but I couldn't find which type of transistor technology (IGBT or SiC) these trains use. I know that these trains will be using VVVF inverters supplied by Mitsubishi Electric, but I don't either know yet if the motor (obviously I know now that your only motor choice is in a 3-phase configuration, and AC motors are now required for VVVF drives in order to vary the frequency) will be a regular induction motor or a synchronous motor with permanent magnets. Please provide me a reliable source of information such as a website or a PDF document that says which type of motors these trains will use, ensuring that it at least says IGBT or SiC. Thanks, Edgar Searle (talk) 02:37, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- Update: It's probably actually gonna be SiC-MOSFET-VVVF because SBD's are usually used on metros. Edgar Searle (talk) 03:22, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
NSW TrainLink, Transport for NSW or News Media should now only be the accepted source accompaniments for train introduction
[edit]Important message: Before you add the service dates, you must ensure you accompany them with sources by NSW TrainLink, Transport for NSW or news media, as they are now the only three accepted websites for source information. If your source is not, you are to refrain from adding it. Thank you. Edgar Searle (talk) 04:13, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Operating ban
[edit]Shouldn't there be a segment on criticism from unions and on strikes as a result of these trains? Tomorrow operating of them will be BANNED indefinitely, and this is quite a significant moment for these trains.
- That is not relevant to the article, unfortunately. Edgar Searle (talk) 06:17, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Industrial Action
[edit]Why is all information regarding the union being removed? There's a message on this talk page saying it's not relevant, but I don't see why it shouldn't be included. It's a major part of the introduction of the trains into service and why they've been delayed for so long. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sydney Metro Vlogs (talk • contribs) 22:58, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Not to mention a historic government-performed system shutdown, and an announcement by Scott Morrison calling the unions "terrorists". Are we seriously going to let all of this be forgotten? GriffinRails (talk) 11:00, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
Neutrality
[edit]Article is suffering from having a lot of opinions and quotes from people, member of the opposition, trade union leaders etc, who have vested interests. The article, particularly the parts relating to the industrial dispute, needs to be rewritten to give a more neutral reporting of the facts. Portjad (talk) 04:47, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- OK: from now on, any further addition to the entering service field must now be accompanied by a source only from NSW TrainLink, Transport for New South Wales or relevant news media. Edgar Searle (talk) 04:16, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
New lead image pictures
[edit]The D sets are about to enter service today in 4 hours (05:20 am) on the CCN line..I will be taking some pictures and will replace the lead image with one in-service. I'm not sure if this goes against consensus on lead images, as I am not able to find a "Wikipedia:" article about it. Shanshansan (talk) 14:20, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
