[edit]Some of this article needs to be re-written. It seems to be a copy-and-paste from the references below.
The Carl Vinson isn't homeported at NOB. Odd numbered carriers are East Coast, even numbered carriers are West Coast. There could be exceptions, but the Carl Vinson isn't one of them. I believe its home port is Pearl Harbor. Someone may want to check the other homeported ships to make sure the list is accurate. I'm only familiar with subs and carriers, but those lists look accurate to me (after removing the CV)
Carl Vinson is undergoing refitting and a nuclear reactor swap at Newport News Naval Shipyards in Hampton. For a month or two she was sitting at NOB waiting for an open dock. All carriers regardless where they are homeported with the exception of USS Kitty Hawk go to Newport News for their nuclear reactor maintence. But its homeport is Bremerton, WA not Pearl Harbor.--NavyAO2(AW) 17:58, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Get a grip, Navy. Do you really think everything associated with the Navy deserves capital letters? Speak English. The last I checked that was the Navy's de facto language, not "Navalease." Better yet, look up the definitions of common and proper nouns. I doubt anyone in the Navy has ever bothered, especially Captains and Admirals!
Ok, what are you talking about?--NavyAO2(AW) 22:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
The Monitor and the Merrimac never fought. The Merrimac was rechristened to be the CSS Virginia, then battled the Monitor to a draw, and then was blown up in the James River half way to Richmond.
This article makes the claim of being the largest Navy base in the world. While it may have the most ships, it is not the "largest". China Lake covers 1.1 million acres or > 1700 square miles. While I don't know if China Lake is the worl's biggest it definately dwarfs Norfolk.
Well, for starters...stop calling it "NOB." Its Naval Station Norfolk. The term "NOB" was dropped in 1946. "Navalesase" is USS AMERICA or Helicopter Squadron ONE FOUR as opposed to USS America (CV-66) or Helicopter Squadron 14. Thirdly, CSS Virginia was scuttled at Craney Island in the Elizabeth River. Fourthly(?), China Lake is a weapon's station. gcal1971 —Preceding undated comment added 15:41, 26 June 2011 (UTC).

Enterprise
[edit]Someone has something against to add the retired USS Enterprise (CVN-65) to the caption of the image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Fleet-003-US-VA-Norfolk-20121220-N-ZN152-189.jpg ? --Efa (talk) 11:50, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
Squadrons
[edit]I just realized there is no mention of the air squadrons stationed at NS Norfolk. I will be working on this in the near future. Reb1981 (talk) 02:30, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Irresponsible
[edit]It is irresponsible of websites like this, to publish so much information re: our military. 2600:8805:2007:4400:656B:62EA:5683:963C (talk) 15:31, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
