Namesake

Online research does not reveal who this mountain is named after. If you know, please update the article or advise. A couple candidates could be New Zealand geologist Francis John Turner, or mountaineer Samuel Turner (1869-1929) who made the first traverse of Mount Cook in 1906, the first solo ascent of Cook in 1919, and first ascents of Mount Hooker (1929) and Mount Brewster (1929).
