I am not at all knowledgeable on this particular legend, but I do notice that the article has no source or references, especially concerning all the "people have reported that..." part. Also, some parts of the tale seem rather illogical... if Moll died alone in the woods, only to be found days later, how can anyone know that "she knelt down near a large rock, placed one hand on it and raised her other hand to call down a curse upon the land and her persecutors." if there was no one around to witness it? The article really could use some references.

Strongly agree. I added a couple of {{Fact}} tags. Naphra 01:05, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can see the handprint in the rock! and the spot where her knee rested on the rock at the bottom. Pictures can't be posted because no has had any luck photographing the hand print it doesnt show up in photos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daisycreek (talkcontribs) 15:11, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Comments by Ghilz The story of Moll Dyer is a folktale. Folktales are oral in nature and therefore lack written references. It's also a folktale about a witch whose ghost haunts the land. Supernatural tales are often illogical. We have no evidence that Moll Dyer ever existed or that the events in the story ever happened. That said, this particular folktale has been told in the county for several hundred years and has been written down by different people, so we do have some records of how the story has changed in the telling over the years. That's the only kind of reference available.
