It is not yet clear if Miss Sweden, is from Strömstad. She represented Strömstad, because one recrutation was held in The Code Palace in Strömstad...There were several recrutations in Sweden and she may come from any city in the country. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.136.3.238 (talk) 19:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is not GB's fault in this case. She was Miss Strömstad, because she won a recruitment process held in Strömstad....and there were several other recruitments in other cities. But still, the franchise hasn't revealed so much information about her, and she could be from any place really. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.136.3.238 (talk) 20:40, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is GB a reliable source?

[edit]

I've posed this question here and one editor believes that it is not a reliable source. Feel free to state your opinion there. PageantUpdater talkcontribs 00:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

will there be a Miss Nicaragua I look up the list of remaining nations a few days and and did NOT see Nicaragua does so now I'm confused are they comming or staing home ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.5.2 (talk) 17:50, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Ulster banner is not the flag of Northern Ireland please stop representing it as if it is and read the MOS especially this thanks. BigDuncTalk 14:21, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Antigua" or "Antigua and Barbuda"?

[edit]

There are some disputes between these name but Antigua is the official name of Antigua and Barbuda in Miss World pageants. This country has competed in 6 Miss World pageants under official name of ANTIGUA only. Here are the sources, look at the sash of Antigua carefully:

  • 1986 - Karen Rhona Eartha Knowles [1][2]
  • 1991 - Joanne Bird [3][4]
  • 2001 - Janelle Williams [5][6]
  • 2002 - Zara Razzaq [7][8][9]
  • 2003 - Anne-Marie Brown [10][11]
  • 2004 - Shermain Sunja Jeremy (SF) [12]

The dispute is over! ANTIGUA is the official recognized name by Miss World Organization.

Angelo De La Paz (talk) 02:46, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Angelo De La Paz - please provide evidence that "Antigua" and not "Antigua and Barbuda" will be competing in Miss World. I have already e-mailed Mrs. Julia Morley to change to correct name i.e. "Antigua and Barbuda." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Missmundo2006 (talkcontribs) 06:17, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you read my citation given? In all 6 Miss World pageants that MWO has used Antigua sash. Look one more time carefully from both pictures and video clips...all 6 is ANTIGUA, not Antigua and Barbuda. Angelo De La Paz (talk) 06:28, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Judges section restored

[edit]

I have restored the judges section content (diff). The content is directly relevant, significant and of importance relative to the article's topic, and its omission reduces the quality of the article. North America1000 09:48, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To your opinion. To my opinion it is completely irrelevant and removal only improves the article. Do you have any sources conform WP:RS (so no related sources) about this? The Banner talk 00:38, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Information about the people who judge the performance of a large number of contestants in a contest is entirely relevant. Provision of information regarding the judges is credible to provide a balanced overview of the event. Primary sources are allowed to be used in articles to verify information, although secondary and tertiary sources are preferred. North America1000 07:35, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know by now that you prefer related sources instead of independent sources or none at all. But does it not give you the idea that there might be no significance outside that specific field? The Banner talk 08:10, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer independent sources. North America1000 08:12, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have again restored the Judges section (diff). It was removed again with a rationale of "removed irrelevant fancruft" (diff). However, my rationale for the content to be in the article has not been adequately addressed above, and the rationale for it's re-removal is entirely subjective. Information about the people who judge the performance of a large number of contestants in a contest is quite relevant. and is credible to provide a balanced overview of the event. Furthermore, many articles about competitions have information about judges. For example, see American Idol and Top Chef for starters. It's also likely that offline sources are available that provide coverage. North America1000 18:56, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
