  • The article is new enough, long enough, free from close paraphrasing, and adequately sourced. All of the hooks are cited inline, however I'm only approving ALT1 as it is the most intriguing option among the proposals. The source is in Chinese so AGF, although a Google Translate check verified the information. A full QPQ has also been done. My only article concern is that it doesn't mention why the theme song was criticized in the wake of MeToo, only that it was, although this isn't a DYK issue and should not hold back the nomination. I will comment on anything I notice, but not all of my comments will be strictly related to the GA criteria, so not everything needs to be actioned. Feel free to push back if you think I am asking too much, and please tell me when I am wrong.

  • Lead: I wonder whether it is worth adding a literal translation of the title (the Chinese certainly doesn't mean "Miss Shampoo")  Done
  • Originally pitched to adapt Precisely Out of Control into a feature film for 21st Century Fox, the project was scrapped due to the company's acquisition. something is off here. Who pitched what to whom? Which project?  Done
  • Taipei, Taoyuan City, and New Taipei City I think you can drop the "City"; we are talking geography, not administration here.  Done
  • You could be more explicit that the film did not win any of the prizes.  Done
  • Synposis: Long Legs is massaging is he the person performing the massage? If not, it should be "he is having a massage" or "is being massaged"  Done
  • Outnumbered and severely injured, they worry Fen, who has been anxious about their prolonged absence. this sounds a bit too literal from Chinese. "They are outnumbered and severely injured. Fen is anxious about their prolonged absence." would work better IMO.  Done
  • The film is presumably set in Taiwan, but the only indication is that people play baseball in high school.  Done
  • Cast: is it worth noting that Kai Ko is the director of Bad Education?

  • Development: Precisely Out of Control doesn't have characters; either add those or link Precisely Out of Control [zh].  Done

  • Music: "Just Do You" is composed was composed? Also mention for clarity again that Nine One One is Hong's band?  Done
  • during the MeToo movement the #MeToo movement (better with hashtag) isn't a time. Also, the high point of #MeToo worldwide was probably in late 2017, well before this movie. If the Taiwanese #MeToo was big at a later time, please mention that more clearly.
  • lyrics featuring sexual innuendos, which coincided with the film release better split the sentence and simplify so we don't think the innuendos coincide with the film release.  Done
  • I'll have to check in detail later, but I couldn't find the "Easter egg" content in the sources (I was trying to figure out whether the songs were hidden in the film or just appear on the DVD).

The songs were "hidden in the film" rather than exclusively appear in the DVD version, with "Loyal Valiant Rakuten" playing in the background during a scene at the baseball stadium, and "Red Scarf" being sung by a character. The Nownews source specifically used the term "easter eggs" (彩蛋) and noted that the song was played in the baseball stadium scene, which also featured several other hidden easter eggs in the production design. OK, that makes sense (and while I might say "hidden reference", "Easter egg" seems also fine).   • Release: would be nice to state that the Fantasia Festival is in Montreal.  Done
  • Was there any release in Hong Kong/Mainland China/elsewhere in Asia?
    While I do not care at all when the film was released in HK and Malaysia, I do find it interesting that it had a non-festival run outside of Taiwan. I read the MOS there mostly as trying to prevent long boring lists of release dates of random Hollywood movies in 150 countries.   • Box office: I am a bit confused by the source, which first says "all Taiwan 42 million, Taipei 7 million", then gives a "rest of Taiwan":"Taipei and New Taipei" ratio of 6:1. So I'm not sure when they mean 台北 and when 雙北. Anyway, is the point that they expected the film to do better in central and southern Taiwan because Nine One One is from 台中?
    • Question? The 7.3 million gross refers to the Taipei box office, while the 1:6 ratio pertains to both Taipei and New Taipei. I initially mentioned Taipei only because both figures referenced it, and it clearly shows that Taipei accounted for a large portion of the film's total gross. But I think it is also okay to use "Greater Taipei Area" if you find it necessary. Regarding the second question, Hsu did not mention Nine One One's origin or its relationship with the Taichung box office in the source.     • Question? Apologies, I am not sure what introductory sentence needs to be added. Are you suggesting a sentence that summarizes the total nominations the film received for each award? But it is already included in the lead and seems redundant when paired with the awards list. Also, unfortunately, neither the Golden Horse Awards nor the Taipei Film Awards have runner-ups. I believe mentioning Kai Ko as the director of Bad Education and the film's theatrical releases outside Taiwan are not really necessary. I am also uncertain about what seems to be the problem in The News Lens' commentary in the box office section and the meaning of the introductory sentence in the awards section.     • I have included all the production details mentioned in the Marie Claire article except for the parts about Daniel Hong's wig and Vivian Sung losing weight for her character. I initially found these details to be quite common among actors, as many wear wigs and lose weight for their roles.   • 51: I can't see the Marché du Film in this source. But you could use it to say that this company bought sales rights for everywhere except TW, HK & SE Asia and which companies held those rights (that would hint at the HK release).
    • The Screen Daily source used "Cannes Market" instead of "Marche du Film". (... and will launch sales at the Cannes market.) I have changed the wording to "Cannes Film Market" with a pipelink to Marche du Film to remain more faithful to the source. As for the sales rights in HK and SE Asia, I mentioned this earlier in the paragraph, supported by sources from Variety and Deadline Hollywood.   • Prose: A few points done above. Slightly more copyediting could help but I think we're ok.
  • MoS: Looks fine.
  • Referencing is acceptable, although a few more scholarly type sources would be nice
  • Minor sourcing issue see above.
  • No copyvio or close paraphrasing.
  • Broadness: There could be a little more background on the director, how the film connects to the rest of the novel and perhaps some production details, but everything important is touched upon.
  • Focus: ok
  • Stable and neutral, giving both praise and criticism as in the sources.
  • Images are fine.

Thank you very much for your thorough review and patient explanations, Kusma!!! Regarding the references, since the film is a relatively new rom-com, there are currently no scholarly sources or sources that compare the film with the novel available. (Otherwise I would love to write a thematic analysis section as well.)
Regarding Story in Taipei, unfortunately, I have not seen that film yet, and cult films are not really my preference. >< But I have heard it is quite famous in Taiwan, with some calling it the best Taiwanese cult film. I also did a brief Google search and found quite a few Chinese reviews and interviews.
