explanation
[edit]The article currently asserts that Mike Girty is the son of Simon Girty. I requested citation.
Since Simon Girty died in 1818, and the article says Mike Girty was born in 1821, this strikes me as unlikely.
Girty was blind when he died, and infirm. He spent the last years of his life in Canada, even if there were a few years of error in Mike Girty's date of birth it strikes me as extremely unlikely that a blind and infirm Girty would risk his life to cross into the USA. And it strikes me as unlikely that if blind and infirm Simon Girty made his way to Ohio that he would find a someone who wanted to sleep with him. Geo Swan (talk) 03:42, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, the article doesn't say Mike Girty was born in 1821, it doesn't state his date of birth, instead it says: "Mike Girty, (fl. 1821–32)", note the link. Unfortunately I couldn't find his date of birth. I will look for citations though, they're probably in the sources at the bottom so if that's the case I will add them, if not, I will try to find them. --IvoShandor (talk) 23:35, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, I'm taking a break right now though, I just checked my watchlist out of curiosity today, I will get to it when I get back though. --IvoShandor (talk) 23:42, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
