Origins

Naming reference MaxDB
[edit]Hi, I investigated the origin of the MaxDB naming statement. It is claimed to be a edit of Michael Widenius personally. I don't know, if this is a acceptable reference for Wikipedia. [1] --131.188.135.118 (talk) 14:29, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
I'm attending Percona Live Europe 2018 and just watched a keynote this morning by Arjen Lentz the CEO of the MariaDB Foundation where he talked about the history of the MySQL, MariaDB, and the way the MariaDB Foundation is structured. During that keynote he stated the same, which is that MaxDB was developed as a joint effort between SAP and MySQL AB and was named after Monty's son Max, as is MariaDB Corporation's product MaxScale. 2003:C8:AF1A:1517:9817:630:FED5:C36C (talk) 20:01, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Out of date
[edit]It looks like he was CTO MariaDB Corporation AB and is no longer with the spin off Corporation as claimed in article. Is with the Foundation. As source https://www.theregister.com/2023/04/18/mariadb_job_losses/ have not updated article under the Material about living persons should not be added when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism rule but someone else might think the line up at https://mariadb.com/about-us/leadership/ is enough evidence.91.85.45.143 (talk) 17:51, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
