13 miles?

[edit]

It's much more than 13 miles (21 km) southwest of downtown Miami, more like 20 miles (32 km). It might be only 13 miles (21 km) from the closest sw edge of Miami city limits. B137 (talk) 02:13, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

When measured using a straight line from the center of the airport (published coordinate) and the center of the approximate area that is downtown Miami i get 17.5 miles (15 Nautical Miles) but i think we have to rely on information what is officially published. the Article says 13 miles, this is incorrect as the official Chart Supplement reports " 13 SW" and the legend reports this: Airport location is expressed as distance and direction from the center of the associated city in nautical miles and cardinal points.
13 Nautical miles refers is equal to 14.96 miles, which i think can be rounded up to 15 miles. i think it is better to have the article in miles instead of nautical miles because the general public does not associate distance in nautical miles. i will update the article to 15 miles now NarviTitania (talk) 01:48, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Airport movement numbers in the article

[edit]

The article contains outdated air transport statistics from multiple years.

"In the year ending 3 May 2018, the airport had 194,111 aircraft operations, average 531 per day: 99% general aviation, 1% air taxi and <1% military. 135 aircraft were based at the airport: 104 single-engine, 17 multi-engine, 6 helicopter, 5 jet, and 3 glider." >> the source for this information does not have these statistics?

the info box shows statistics from 2023 while the text shows data from 2018. the Source listed here is "AIRNAV" but i cannot see that information on the site. i tried to verify this with the official website here but i do not see the data published for Miami Executive. i can only find Miami international.

in the second paragraph this number is mentioned without a source:

"450 aircraft are based there, mostly single-engine light aircraft"

Does anyone know where these numbers can be verified or at least updated numbers are published?
