Pointed out by subject?
[edit]So says the subject line of User:Gleuschk. I think you are correct about the "errors of fact" (thanks for noticing!), but are you saying that you got this straight from Melvin Hochster? When I get a chance I'd like to improve the articles on invariant theory and homological algebra, by the way--- maybe you can help? Last time I looked the description of Hilbert's great theorems lacked suitable intuitive explanation as in the little LMS book by Hal Schenck. ---CH 19:13, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, we were at a conference last week and chatted about the article. He had just recently noticed it existed, and mentioned the errors, so I fixed them (I believe they might have been introduced by me, but haven't gone back to check). I'd be happy to try to improve some of the homological algebra articles, but time is short --- e.g., I'm at another conference now. 139.124.3.145 16:29, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Cool. Thanks to you both for the corrections! ---CH 23:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- 139.124.3.145, if you have a moment to email Hochster, I just noticed that this week's "improvement drive" is Stuyvesant High School (see the Main Page, wow!). See David Harbater and Eva Silverstein for examples of how a brief quotation can make a wikibio "come alive".---CH 00:56, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Students beware
[edit]I created the original version of this article and had been monitoring it for bad edits, but I am leaving the WP and am now abandoning this article to its fate.
Just wanted to provide notice that I am only responsible (in part) for the last version I edited; see User:Hillman/Archive. I emphatically do not vouch for anything you might see in more recent versions, although I hope for the best.
Good luck in your search for information, regardless!---CH 02:05, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
